One motion a day. You take a side and argue it in writing. An opponent takes the other side and referees — flagging repetition, strawmen, and the points that are genuinely new.
Today’s motion
Should public-sector banks be privatised in India?
For
Recapitalisation has cost the exchequer more than ₹3.1 lakh crore since 2015. That money bought no structural change in how lending decisions get made.
Against
Private banks did not open the rural branches that made Jan Dhan work. Cost to the exchequer is not the only ledger.
Opponent · the cost figure is doing all the work here. It answers “was it expensive”, not “would privatising fix it”.
